Excellent example of a 1988 Ford ASC McLaren Super low miles but *broken odometer was replaced* Car is very clean, private collector downsizing and letting this one go – minor blemishes on driver seat and pressure ding on driver door are all I could find with this car. Own a piece of history! Throughout the years, the Ford Mustang has been utilized as a base for exciting performance and aesthetic innovation that has stood the test of time. From Carroll Shelby to Steve Saleen, true auto artistry has been applied to the famed pony car. What about McLaren? What? Who? That’s right, it’s a story that few people know and is worth telling!! Detroit customizer Peter Muscat had the idea to bring in some European flair to the Mustang with the help of American Sunroof Company (ASC) founder Heniz Prechter who was in the midst of a project with McLaren. The complete Mustangs were sent to ASC/McLaren where the top was cut off and the interior was removed to make room for the manual-top. Body modifications were also included featuring side skirts, rear spoiler and altering the windshield nearly 20 degrees! Now you have the opportunity to take home this cool car bathed in a beautiful White paint job! Open the door to reveal a gorgeous gray interior that features AM/FM Radio with CD player, Air Conditioning, and power seats with lumbar support! Powering this McLaren is a high-output 5.0-liter engine rated for 225 horsepower and linked to an easy automatic transmission! These cars have a following and you have the chance to be a proud owner! During its four-year production, ASC McLaren converted only just over 1,800 Mustangs with only 1,015 completed in 1988. Car is started weekly and lovingly cared for. It resides in Hawaii, and shipping to the west coast is now under $1000! Sold as-is, where-is, with all faults known and unknown. Deposits are non-refundable.
